Set within the limits of the seaside settlement of Plakias on Crete’s southern coast, this single-family house occupies an exceptionally narrow plot where proximity to future neighbors demands an architecture of privacy and restraint. Two simple volumes define the dwelling with their offset arrangement generating sheltered exterior spaces. The building withdraws at key moments, allowing courts and terraces to become integral parts of daily life. Openings are measured and selective. Larger frames orient toward distant views; smaller, carefully positioned windows guard the private zones of rest, cultivating a sense of refuge. Neither exhibition nor enclosure, the house becomes a quiet mediator between the village and the landscape—an architecture shaped by limits, privacy, and the disciplined use of space.
